Nexus Theatre

As the major teaching/performing venue at Murdoch University, Nexus Theatre has provided students with a modern, professional theatre space with which to hone their craft, be that in performance or production.

 

Nexus theatre is not only available to students and staff of the University, but is also available to all members of the wider community. We are very proud of the links to the community that Nexus Theatre provides, with an affordable and professional space for many different kinds of cultural, musical and theatrical events.

 

In the past Nexus Theatre has hosted many different types of performances, from multicultural groups to primary and secondary schools, choirs and rock bands to professional and semi-professional theatre groups. The space can also be used for lectures, seminars and film and video presentations.

 

Nexus Theatre endeavors to promote excellence in the visual and performative arts. The intimate 175 seat venue allows for large or small scale shows and our professional staff are here to assist you and your production.

 

Since 1993, in association with Murdoch University, Nexus Theatre has been presenting performances by some of Western Australia's best emerging talents.

 

We also provide groups in the local community with an affordable and professional space for different kinds of cultural events.

 

Nexus Theatre is also available to hire for your performances, seminars or video presentations.

 

Nexus Theatre is wheelchair friendly.

 

 

Studio 411 & Drama Workshop

 

This space is primarily split into two spaces;

 

The Workshop: a large open space ideally suited to rehearsal, dance and events that require a large open workspace.

 

Studio 411: Our newly rennovated small intimate theatre performance space, able to seat up to 65 people

 

All venues may be booked independently, The Drama workshop and Sttudio 411 can be booked through University Room Bookings, on 93607810. All theatre uses (lights sound etc), must be booked through Nexus management
